Dr. Kate Flentje obtained her Pharmacy Degree in 2006 and worked for several years as a pharmacist at Barwon Health, University Hospital.

​

Kate’s professional ambition was to be a doctor of medicine and she obtained her medical degree at Deakin University, Geelong in 2014. She went on to continue her Endocrinology and Diabetes training as an intern at Austin Health in Melbourne together with rural placements in Mildura and Hamilton. 

 

She is now in the third year of her Advanced Specialist Training having completed her first year at Barwon Health and her second year at Royal Hobart Hospital.  She is also participating in Graves Disease related clinical research .

​

Kate is interested in all aspects of endocrinology including diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disease.  She keeps up to date by attending regular seminars and conferences.

 

Outside work, Kate and her husband are enjoying spending time with their two little boys..  She also enjoys netball and touch football and spending time in her garden.

We are thrilled to have Kate with us under the mentorship of Dr Adam Roberts and Dr Shannon McCarthy.
